1. Encounter Documents
1.1 Summary
1.1.1 Business Need
Defined users:
MRP doctors, residents, nurses, team assistants and other medical staff with the credentials and rights to access OSCAR web-site. General user is given administrative rights.
Super User/Administrator with full rights:
Add/Edit/Delete
Reactivate account
Access to admin part of the OSCAR
Main purpose of Encounter Documents is:
To indicate scanned in lab results as abnormal
To include all OMD mandatory data elements for Attached files
To add documents
To view the documents in chart whether or not they have been acknowledged/ viewed by providers
To create ticklers from the document
1.1.2. Description
Encounter Documents use cases are designed to identify scanned in lab results as abnormal (category AbnLab). All mandatory OMD data elements should be included in attached files (
EMR Requirements of Appendix A – EMR Specification v4.0– 2.2.1.2.10 Attached Files). Different document formats (images, PDFs, text) can be added to patient's eChart and can be viewed in the chart whether or not they have been acknowledged or viewed by the provider before. Also ticklers can be created from the documents.
1.1.3. Pre-action requirements/state:
OSCAR McMaster Test Version 12.1, system, and DB are up, and running and working as expected.
1.1.4. Post-action state:
OSCAR McMaster Test Version 12.1 is running and behaving as expected.
OSCAR McMaster Test Version 12.1 has all functionality prior to the change (outside of removing functionality intentionally)
