Introduction

This guide will walk you through the signup process for JIRA and Bitbucket. This includes requesting "Developer" privileges in order to submit code.


Prerequisites

  1. A valid email address not currently connected to any Atlassian services*
  2. 10 minutes

Note: You can use any email, but you may need to change the steps listed below.


Signing up to JIRA

Point your web browser to http://oscaremr.atlassian.net/ and click on "Log In" at the top right., then "Sign Up".




Fill in your details, and click "Sign up"



Check your email, and click on the button "Verify my email address"


You can now point your browser back to http://oscaremr.atlassian.net, and click "Log In", choose "Join site"


After a couple of basics, you will land at the Dashboard. Click on the Application Menu to go to Bitbucket.




Signing up to Bitbucket

Note: Create an account on JIRA first.

Sign up to Bitbucket with the same email as you did with JIRA.


Point your browser to http://www.bitbucket.org/oscaremr, and click "Sign up" at the top right


And enter in your JIRA email



Choose "Sign up with your existing Atlassian account"


Finally, choose a Bitbucket username. 



Now that you have a Bitbucket account, you will need to upload your public SSH Key(s) in order to be able to submit code to the repositories without having to enter your password. You can do this by clicking on your avator at the top right, and choosing "Bitbucket Settings", followed by "SSH Keys" on the left navigation menu.
