Getting OSCAR
OSCAR is packaged in a couple of different ways
1) DEB packages
Choose this option for a QUICK and EASY way to get up and running or upgrade your OSCAR installation. DEB(ian) packages will automate the installation of core dependencies, setup the database, create a basic configuration file, and anything else required in a basic installation. This is a great option for many users.
2) Source code
Choose this option if you would like to manually install the required dependencies and components, learn where everything goes, and have fine tuned control over everything
