Using the 'HL7 Lab Upload' function in the OSCAR Inbox (HL7, MDS, CML, GDML and CLS)

Actors/Related actors:

  1. Business Clerks, Records Team, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians

Pre-action requirements/state:

  1. OSCAR and MyOSCAR (where applicable) are both configured and working as expected

Post-action state:

  1. OSCAR Inbox is working as expected

Steps to perform the use case: (HL7)

  1. Login to OSCAR
  2. Click the "Inbox" link (a)
  3. Click the "HL7 Lab Upload" (b)
  4. Click the "Browse" button to locate a HL7 lab file to upload
  5. Select the appropriate Lab Type from the dropdown menu (OLIS HL7)
  6. Click the "Upload the Lab" button (c)

 

Steps to perform the use case: (MDS)

  1. Login to OSCAR
  2. Click the "Inbox" link (a)
  3. Click the "HL7 Lab Upload" (b)
  4. Click the "Browse" button to locate a MDS lab file to upload
  5. Select the appropriate Lab Type from the dropdown menu (MDS/Lifelabs)
  6. Click the "Upload the Lab" button (c)

 

Steps to perform the use case: (GDML)

  1. Login to OSCAR
  2. Click the "Inbox" link (a)
  3. Click the "HL7 Lab Upload" (b)
  4. Click the "Browse" button to locate a GDML lab file to upload
  5. Select the appropriate Lab Type from the dropdown menu (GDML)
  6. Click the "Upload the Lab" button (c)

 

Steps to perform the use case: (CML)

  1. Login to OSCAR
  2. Click the "Inbox" link (a)
  3. Click the "HL7 Lab Upload" (b)
  4. Click the "Browse" button to locate a CML lab file to upload
  5. Select the appropriate Lab Type from the dropdown menu (CML)
  6. Click the "Upload the Lab" button (c)

 

Failure Steps:

  1. failure result: The HL7 Lab Upload is not working as expected

Success Steps (HL7):

  1. expected result: Inbox functionality is working as expected
    1. The window titled "Lab Reports" is displayed containing all of the labs/documents in the inbox for the selected care provider
    2. The window titled "Lab Upload Utility" is displayed, providing options for uploading the HL7 lab
    3. The lab is uploaded successfully

 

Success Steps (MDS):

  1. expected result: Inbox functionality is working as expected
    1. The window titled "Lab Reports" is displayed containing all of the labs/documents in the inbox for the selected care provider
