Welcome to the getting started guide. This guide is intended for a technical audience and will outline the minimal steps to get OSCAR EMR and related software up and running on your system.
This is helpful for users who want to quickly evaluate some of the core features of the EMR, or just want a basic understanding of how things are set up.
In order to complete these steps you should have
- Familiarity with Linux
- Access to the internet
- Plenty of coffee
Choose your own adventure...
1) DEB packages
Choose this option for a QUICK and EASY way to get up and running or upgrade your OSCAR installation. DEB(ian) packages will automate the installation of core dependencies, setup the database, create a basic configuration file, and anything else required in a basic installation. This is a great option for many users.
Choose this option if you would like to manually install the required dependencies and components and have fine tuned control over everything.
Choose this option if you'd like to know how to build from source to generate your own WAR for deployment.
