Billed Appointments not turning blue

After creating an appointment click on B to bill. Bill the appointment and after saving the invoice, the appointment should turn blue in the appointment screen. This does not happen consistently. There is nothing in the logs to suggest a server error. Instead the appointment turns pink and remains that way.
